The prestigious agency based in London has represented many of the worlds most distinguished artists including opera singers Dames Joan Sutherland and Anne Evans, Sir George Solti, Rudolf Kempe, Christa Ludwig and Sir Michael Tippet. Kathryn is currently performing in the role of Annio in Opera North’s new production of Mozart’s ‘La Clemenza di Tito’ directed by John Fulljames and Conducted by Dougie Boyd.

“La clemenza di Tito is a tale of sexual obsession and divided loyalties, set in Ancient Rome. The powerful, alluring Vitellia has designs on the Emperor Tito, and is provoked to fury when he opts to marry someone else. She fans the flames of rebellion, and demands his assassination at the hands of her doting lover Sesto, Tito’s trusted confidant. Torn between loyalty to his friend and emperor and his fascination with the hypnotic Vitellia, Sesto makes a choice that tests Tito’s forgiving nature to breaking point.”

“Composed for the coronation celebrations of the new Emperor of Bohemia, La clemenza was famously described by Mozart as his ‘true opera’ due to its noble subject and its rich, varied music. Mozart received the commission for Tito when he was already underway with The Magic Flute, and both works’ stirring melodies, colourful ensembles and unforgettable choruses share the directness and simplicity typical of his late style.

John Fulljames, Associate Director of Opera at the Royal Opera House, directs Opera North’s first production of Mozart’s sublime opera seria. The Glyndebourne tour of Mozart’s ‘Le Nozze di Figaro’ is in Canterbury this week and Kathryn has just completed her 22nd performance as Cherubino! Kathryn made her debut for Glyndebourne in their wonderful auditorium back in September and since then has performed in Woking, Norwich, Wimbledon and Plymouth to packed enthusiastic audiences. You can still catch the show in Milton Keynes and Stoke during the next fortnight!

The nominees for the first ever Liverpool Music Awards were announced at Eric’s, Mathew Street on Wednesday 10th October 2012, during an evening of Liverpool music. The night was hosted by BBC Radio Merseyside’s Dave Monks, with local musicians including members of The Coral, The Zutons and the Lightning Seeds turning out to support the nominations. Kathryn is a nominee for the award of Female Artist of the Year together with folk singer, songwriter and playwright Lizzie Nunnery and the X-Factor star Rebecca Ferguson.
