Celebrating the Kathleen Ferrier Centenary

“An Ordinary Diva!”

Kathryn was honoured to have been invited by the Kathleen Ferrier Society to perform on Saturday 3rd March 2012 in a recital as part of the centenary events celebrating the life and music of Kathleen Ferrier.      Kathryn and pianist James Baillieu performed Mahler’s ‘Lieder eines  fahrenden Gesellen’ followed by some favourite arias and songs from Kathleen’s repertoire.   The event was chaired by Peter Davison,  Artistic Director at Bridgewater Hall with guest speaker Sylvia Alexander, co-chairman of the Kathleen Ferrier Society.  The session concluded with a showing of the documentary Kathleen Ferrier: An Ordinary Diva introduced by the film’s writer, Sara Broughton and its director, Suzanne Philips.
