Mersey Wave

Kathryn is actively involved with Mersey Wave Music which she co-founded in South Liverpool in 2012. Mersey Wave hosts weekly music groups and organises events throughout the year to provide the opportunity for the local community to get involved with music making activities.

The Mersey Wave mixed voice choir, under the direction of Jason Ellis, has 70+ members and The Mersey Wave Young Singers (6-19 years) rehearse weekly and are also regularly involved in the Mersey Wave concerts and fundraising activities. They have been featured on the BBC One Show and participated in Open Culture and Tate Liverpool Mondrian Project, Liverpool ‘Folk on the Dock’ Festival. The Choir have also presented concerts at Speke Hall, The Epstein Theatre, Philharmonic Hall, St George’s Hall Concert Room in Liverpool and also at events within the local community for ESLA, South Liverpool Housing, Hale Village Carnival, Royal British Legion and Liverpool Clinical Commissioning Group.

Mersey Wave organised events include annual Summer and Christmas family concerts at St Ambrose Church, Speke, Concert and a Cuppa afternoon recitals.  Concerts also take place annually in partnership with the Fron Male Voice Choir.

The choir rehearses weekly in ‘The Welly’ (The Wellington Pub) and the young singers group takes place at Hale Village Hall.
